When I found out Bishop Pinnegar was home alone - well the only thing to do was to invite him to dinner. We had a nice time and the food was good. He even baked an Apple Pie and bought it to share.

This is such a wonderful time of year, as we all reflect on the year past we can make better choices, make new friends. Reach out to others so this time is not so lonely.

May you enjoy your dear ones near and far. May you find peace in your heart and mind. May you rejoice in the Savior's birth. And may we all carry Christ a bit closer to our hearts and keep him with us always.

I am so grateful for my knowledge of the Savior, his misson and his love.

Just a bit more Christmas. Nothing like when Mom was here after all she was indeed the Christmas Queen. But I hope she would be happy that I do still decorate and even though to some this is a lot. Well let me tell you, Mom had so much I called out to family to see if they wanted any of her things. Only a few responded and that's ok, it is not for everyone. And then I donated to RS some of her Lenox life of Christ figures and then she had two special friends that I gave and item or two to also, when I visit them I have seen the items on display in their homes. One dear lady said every day she sees this Christ figure and thinks of Alice. That is the sweetest. I am pleased the ones who took things love them as they loved my Mom!

Just a bit of Christmas Cheer! I never thought in a million years that I would be able to fill the Christmas Card rack. This is my favoite Christmas item my Mom had for years. I have always loved it. And it is full to over flowing. Thanks to all who sent me cards and kind thoughts!

The table is set, the Turkey is in the oven yum! Then there is fudge (my specialty), Home made pumkin pie (the best I may add) and then Bosenberry pie from Knott's. We are also having about 9 or 10 people over. Martha and Zac, The missionaries, Me, Jeff and Hilarie and hopefull our neighbor Kyle if he does not have to work but if he does a plate will go over for him later.

Not pictured, Green Bean casserole, Bussel Sprouts agraten (really really yummy!), Hilaries mashed potato's and Gravy, Home made Cranberrie sauce. I hope Jeff likes it but if he doesn't the back up is canned.

We are hoping for a Thankful and happy day!

Here are the pictures from the 4th of July bash! I think from end to beginning. Sorry about that the order is reversed. I do think all who came enjoyed BBQ and fun sides with great deserts!

It was really good to see Hannah and the kids sorry that Adrian had to work. Maybe he can join us next year not sure they are moving to San Diego.

The Adams are always fun to be around and we must say the same for Kevin and Judy.

We were happy that Hil's Uncle Danny and Aunt Vicki came too they are so nice.

Martha and Zac joined in for the first time and had a fun time.

Tomatoes are growing and so are the herbs - things are working well in the yard. We have reseeded the back people side it is looking good. - moved 2 of my baby fruit trees to the back.

The front is coming along takes time by end of summer should be ready for new plants (yeah!)

So Jeff has decided to take out all the plants out front he has started. I think we will save the two roses and then plant roses in front like it was for so many years. I love the roses. I think it will be nice. We will weed and then plant and then put some weed screen down and some bark. I think it will be nice and Rosie.

And we will put bricks instead of wood on the back for a more permanent flower bed, Never knew why my Dad did not do that.

Cypress Stake Primary Swim Party was August 7, 2010. As you can see all smiles everyone that came had a great time! At the end all swimmers were cold and still wanted that popsicle! To funn!

Well this is the front porch it has been this way for many years the green rod iron table and chairs with green pads and the glider it is also green with green covers. I often would say to my Mom we need some more wow! On the porch and she would say "Karen, do you know how much those pads cost!" I would say some day something great like red. Since the house is light light yellow the roof is red - some day I will have a red (burnt red) front door and red covers on the furniture.

Well I have to tell you what happened. I was working at Joann on night with Kathy and we had to check the out door fabric for ones that went clearance. When I saw this reddish paisley I was like OK my this is the one!! we checked and to my surprise it was a clearance item. So regular price $19.99 (gulp!) to $6.00 a yard clearance and the clearance was 1/2 off the red tag so I was able to get 4 yards at $3.00 a yard. It was amazing. I did not even know if that was enough fabric. But look below and you will see for about $18.00 total I recovered the pads on the furniture. I Love it!

The Tree is Gone!

I have been in a battle with the city of Buena Park, Tree dept for over a year. It got to the point that I would just call up and say, Hi! Rudy, Karen Goodwin here my tree needs to be removed it is breaking up the curb and roots are all above the ground. He would say I know but it is to costly for the city.

My response was OK, I have replaced the main drain in my home twice in 10 years if I have to do it again I will send the bill to the city.

Now finally the battle is over and they came and took the tree and as I requested I do not have to have a replacement. I am happy.

My sweet Mom passed away on March 13th, 2010 she was 88 yrs old. She attended church the sunday before and one person in the ward said she is attending another now. She loved the church was a great example in my life. I will miss her. Today is the first Wednesday in over 6 years that was not Mom's day. It was sad.

We are all so happy when the time comes and Sandy can get a shave down. She is so happy when all the itchy long hair goes.

She even acts more friendly for those of you who know my dog story. She has had a tough life. So sick as a pup but we had to save her. The drugs she took the 1st year of her life did affect her.

She is scared of everything. But she remains a very sweet dog. She loves being outside and chases the moths and fly's around and is just ok by her self.

She does remain friends with Duke and Soto (Jeff and Hil's dogs) But Sadie Mae well they don't get along to well so we keep them away from each other.

For now it is what it is. But Sandy girl is a happy dog now!

Today I took Mom and we attended a very lovely lunch in honor of my niece's current marriage. It was at the Cedar Creek Inn in San Juan Capistrano. It was a nice day with some family and Cris's Family also. A nice place to eat it is right across the street from the Mission. We had a good time and wish Erin and Chris the best! I only wish I had taken my camera to get a picture of them.

This was Tyler's Baptism day he told me 'yeah that was when my Dad weight 500 lbs" I am just happy he was there and young David Jr Baptised Tyler and his Dad my brother David was able to confirm him before he passed on.

Well I made a challenge to my Primary class - CTR 7 & 8 year old to watch just on session of conference.

Well I watched 1 on Saturday and 1/2 of the other one on Saturday and both on Sunday.

I love all the reverences made to primary and how the children learn. Hummmm! Just to show you all that Primary is where it begins the Faith the Testimonry of the Lords Children.

I love it and have always said. Primary, well if we have the strongest there working with the children the children will be ok.

I love Conference and the Prophet and all it stands for. Now I have to get to work and keep the commandments and attend the temple more often. I have work to do. What about you?

I want a divorce
